Closing Summations

The Ngāi Tahu Freshwater Statement of Claim in the High Court in Ōtautahi is coming to a close Friday, April 4th 2025.

Closing summations from all parties commence next week. Tātau Tātau o Te Wairoa Trust’s legal team will give closing summations on Monday afternoon, 31st March. This may change to Wednesday, 2nd April and we let you know as soon as possible if this does. We have been supporting Ngāi Tahu in these proceedings and seeking formal recognition of the rights and responsibilities of our iwi and hapū over freshwater within the rohe o Te Wairoa.

We invite our members and whānau who live in Ōtautahi Waipounamu to come and support the Kaupapa.
